I would like to start this writing with a phrase that really called my attention while hearing Chimmamanda Adichie's TED conference. "The problem withe stereotypes isn't they aren't true, it's they are incomplete"
Personally for me stereotypes come from a single story, masses create single story's because masses sometimes speak without knowing what they are talking about. There is a truth about stereotypes they are real, this doesn't mean they apply for everything or everyone. Stereotypes tell something about a general truth that masses create as a result of statements that are around the world such as stupid blonds or everyone in Africa being poor
I mean it is true, there are stupid blonds , but the world's first elected female president was a blonde. Vigdís Finnbogadóttir is her name, she was the president of Iceland from 1980 to 1996. It's true Africa has the most poor country in the world, this doesn't mean everyone in Africa is poor.
We can also have single stories problems with everyday life things, judging is a single story, sometimes it is not what you think you are, because you only have a single story.
So I would recommend you to learn more about what you are talking.
This is for me the danger of a single story is believing stereotypes as facts, if we continue like this we are defenetly going to be stupid.
